Task 10: Delivery in Detail

In this task the deployment gets the parts a real one has.

Add environments

• GitHub environments staging and production, each with its own variables and secrets.
• TODO: a required reviewer on production, or the merge approval only.

Deploy to staging first

• TODO: a second namespace, or a second set of instances.
• Production deploys only after staging's smoke test passes.

Roll back

• Redeploy the previous image tag. TODO: a workflow_dispatch workflow taking the tag.

Notify on a deployment

• Optional: post the result to Slack, as in Pipeline Identities, Part 7.
